5.2 Running Hot-Leaking from Oil pan?!
Coolant passes thru the timing cover in two places, both near the top. Notice the water pump is mounted to the front of the timing cover, and the radiator hose is back behind it, on the intake manifold.
That said, ol' grouch is correct. Check the bypass hose under the a/c compressor/bracket FIRST. They ARE known to be problematic, and if you didn't change it when you did the water pump, it is quite likely to be the problem.

At the top on left and right corners, water passes through the cover into the block. My 94 leaked there. Actually caused pitting on the cover and the block. Had to replace the cover.
Today I removed the accessory bracket and replaced the hose which as soon as I took the bracket off I knew it wasn’t that, but went ahead and replaced anyway. I sat under that truck for a good hour looking for the leak, and I had no luck. All 6 freeze caps on the side of the block are dry and the 2 on the back of the heads and the ones on the front. I did some more research and found out there are 3 more freeze plugs between the tranny and engine. Looks like I’m pulling this transmission out!
