So a fun new change today, i started the truck up after leaving it with the battery unplugged overnight and taking off the air cleaner to get a better look at all the connections and wiring and it idles high and fluctuates. this is new it has not done this before. i will pull the iac in the morning to check the connections and see if it needs another clean.

Disconnecting the battery will cause that until it learns where to idle. @HeyYou made a very good point (never thought of it). He says whenever you disconnect the battery turn the key on bur don't start it, and let it the for 15 seconds before starting. This allows the computer to learn the zero values of the sensors.

yeah i know, i have had the battery disconected several times during this and it has never done this so it is a new thing. i hope it leads to the issue.

Idle is controlled by both the IAC and TPS. I would suspect one of those

so another interesting thing popped up, i noticed that when i touch the plug for the tps it idles rough if i tap the tps it does the same and i could probably make it stall if i just keep tapping it. funny thing is i tested it and it tested ok. i am going to get a new one and perhaps a new plug too.
