Yep, need the whole harness, and will likely need to do some adaptation as well. OBDI pcm has one large plug, OBDII in this instance, has three smaller ones...... I would try and find a 96 or 97 truck with a v-8, and take EVERYTHING electrical under the hood.... harness, pdc, pcm, everything.

Not sure on the name of the kit, it's basically a couple pressure switches and some wiring..... that's it. Any place that deals with performance transmissions should sell something similar. I think a wiring diagram, and part numbers are even posted somewhere around here...... but, I can't come up with it in a quick search....)

So the wiring in the cab can stay, just the under hood electrical needs to change? The truck that I'm going to use the body and frame from is a 2500 that had a Cummins in it. It's a good thing I'm asking questions now, it'll take a year to figure out what I need and accumulate all the parts. What do you think it will cost to build/ buy an engine? Is 300-400 horsepower a reasonable number? I was thinking a fairly stock block, cam, EQ heads, a little bigger throttle body if you guys think it needs it, headers, and dual exhaust. Thanks for all your help.

Depending on the year of the engine harness you may have to change the cab wiring. Build an engine with that hp about $5900 depending on machine shop cost. To buy it about the same. Im in the process of gathering 408 parts

Well then you could use the EQ heads for the LA style intakes and carb it or go with the bolt on EFI. You will have to use the standard electronic ignition distributor and a few other mods but it may be cheaper and easier in the long run.

I'll have to think about that. I'm going to keep some form of fuel injection. Thanks for the idea.

Do you think this would work? https://www.fuelairspark.com/ez-efi-...-fit-type.html

I think this is what you were referring to on a carb intake on LA style EQ heads https://fitechefi.com/products/30001/
