That won't affect it as it adjusts both banks off of one side.

So this brings me back to the original question.
What in the hell is my mystery gremlin.
I know my plenum leaks so very good possibility as I have heard what sounds like a weird hissing sort of sound on start up and seems that my idle hangs and has since I’ve had the truck. Sound tends to go away as it warms up. I will look into the Hughes plenum kit with the new aluminum plenum plate. Before I move onward on that.
What is left is
What in the hell is my mystery gremlin.
- Nee plugs
- cap
- rotor
- wires
- o2 sensor

What is left is
- coil
- crank sensor
- distributor base (may not be adjusting timing correctly)
- compression and leak down testing for burnt valve or low compression

The distributor actually has very little to do with ignition timing. It transfers spark energy to the correct plug, and that's it. Cam sensor (pick-up coil) in the distributor is for Injector timing. It tells the PCM where in the firing order it is currently at. It is just a hall-effect switch, that changes state once per crankshaft revolution.
Crank sensor is a possibility.... if you decide to replace it, (I would do other stuff first......) make sure to get a genuine Mopar crank sensor. These trucks don't like the aftermarket fellers.
Compression test would be a good idea. Think I would do that FIRST.

Look for the aluminum plate on Amazon or eBay. I paid $30 for the plate with bolts abs $12 for the gaskets and new intake bolts on rockauto
