Default Thermostat o-ring?

Bought an intake gasket aet that includes a thermostat o-ring. I've never seen a thermostat with an o-ring. Where does it go?

No thermostat for a 2nd gen uses an o ring, that I know of. Can you post a picture of it?

My 01 had this on the original thermostat. It is not an o-ring, but goes around the circumference of the base. My new one came with a gasket. Yeah, I'm curious now. post a pic or ID/OD of the o-ring.

Here's pictures if the o-ring with the top and bottom of the thermostat. I'm looking for the old thermostat, although I'm pretty sure I tossed it, since I'd be replacing it(wish I hadn't, of course, as it'd be helpful in determining if an o-ring is needed).

For what it's worth, the o-ring would be a snug fit around the shaft on the bottom of the thermostat.

That's not for the thermostat. Just a guess, but either it is misplaced to the t-stat box, or that t-stat fits to some other engine where is needed to remove something that has an o-ring.

That's the oring for the tube the heater hose connects to, that goes into the water pump.

That I believe is for the metal bypass tube on the water pump
