Default Trailer light problem

Hi guys. Truck info...2001 ram 1500 4x4. 5.9 auto with tow package. my problem is that when I plug my utility trailer into the truck, my passenger side turn/brake light on trailer doesn't work. I have power to the pin on the 7 way on truck, power to the light on trailer but as soon as hook the light up the power goes out. I've tried 2 different trailers with the same results.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dave

Check where the trailer harness hits the main rear harness on the truck. Those junctions are known to be problematic.

Quite possibly there is a short between wires and it's going straight to ground. I've tracked down water getting into the insulation and rusting a screw holding a wire in and it would short out the wiring. Start with the wire for the RR brake and tail and the ground wire.

Just let everyone know, my trailer is a complete brand new light kit all new wiring and lights. I've tried on another trailer with the same result.
