i have been tossing around the idea of getting new wheels when i get new tires in the coming months. so while looking i have been seeing guys running 15 inch wheels on their second gen trucks. i was always under the impression that 16 was the smallest you could go without hitting on brakes. any guys here running 15 inch wheels on their truck?

 

To my knowledge they will not fit. I upgraded to 17 as its easier to find tires.

 

I have 15x10 centerlines on mine. I think it just depends on the specific rim if it will clear brakes. I agree with the 17's comment, any truck going forward I am going to take into account the tire size for the rim as odd sizes are harder to find and more expensive.

 

A 15" will fit fine and I have never had a problem finding tires for a 15" rim, they are cheap and readily available. I would go with an 8" wide wheel instead of a 10".

 

I should have clarified it's hard to find a large tire for a 15 or 16 rims

 

Depends on what you consider large, 35s are easy to get for both rim sizes, any larger than that and it is more difficult, but there is still quite a few.

 

Smallest I run is 40

 

15's fit through 99. 2000 and up have larger two piston calipers.
