Default Overdrive gasket

Can you use permatex to seal the overdrive unit to a 46rh?

The gasket is cheap, think I would be inclined to put one in there. They are sometimes used as 'spacers', such that NOT having the gasket there, may make the park rod too long..... or something equally as unpleasant.

I'll never argue anything that makes sense, and that makes sense. Thanks for the input.

Don't tell anyone I actually made sense though. You'll ruin my rep.
