i have a 1995 dodge 2500 regular cab with the 360 motor and i believe its a nv4500 tranny. i have the truck i want to put the tranny into a 2000 dodge 1500 sport club cab. the parts truck has everything i should need to do the swap i just dont know how the wheel bases are if they're the same or if i need to get weird with driveshafts and i really dont want to. i already know that ill probably have to swap the pcms.
any input would be amazing and helpful. i just dont have the knowledge for this swap

PCM's won't swap. Two entirely different systems, and they are not compatible. You can use the PCM already in the 2000, and just have it reflashed for a manual trans. I *think* all the mechanical bits to make it work will be fine though. Are the trucks 2 or 4 wheel drive?

I think you can use either transfer case, the 2500 should have the NV241, with is a bit heavier duty than the 231 in the 1500, I think the spline count on the output shafts are the same as well, so, your driveshaft *should* work. Either that, or should be able to get one from a junkyard without too much trouble. (the 241 t-case might be a bit longer than the 231, trans may not be the same length either) In any case, getting a shaft custom made really isn't that expensive. Friend paid less than 300 bucks to have his reworked. (need to be a bit shorter.)
