2000 dodge 1500 4x4 46re HELP TRANNY ISSUES
Got everything done noticed the main 8 pin plug was chafed..... every wire. Replaced it only had 1st gear. Shortened the wires 1sr2nd3rd and reverse. Figured I had a stuck TV sensor so changed it didn't help. Then I was about to change valve bodies and noticed the tv cable bracket was backwards and I had the main plug undone and P/N switch undone. Flipped the cable bracket around for full movement(only had 1/8in before) now I only have 1st gear again.....wtf. I'm banging my head against a wall here could use help. Thanks
How about some history? How many miles on it? How long have you owned it? What kind of problems have you been having? Original trans? Swapped out? Any idea what year the trans came from, if it isn't original?
I've had it 6 months just rebuilt the tranny. Text book build all by the book.Got everything done noticed the main 8 pin plug was chafed..... every wire. Replaced it only had 1st gear. With the 8 pin connector disconnected, your trans will be in full manual mode. I.E. No automatic function whatsoever. It should still shift manually though. If it doesn't, then something in the rebuild wasn't quite right.
