If they both had the same number of drive wheels, it is a direct swap. I can't claim it won't have any issues, as I don't know if the trans had issues in it's original home. But, if it worked fine in the previous truck, it should work fine in yours as well.

well I gotta we just wondering because the 5.2 was internally balanced and the 5.9 was external so I didn’t know if it was different
Where the balance weights were for the 5.9 changed in 96, they moved to the flex plate, so, just make sure you use the correct flex plate for your motor, and you should be golden.
