Default Body swap question

We bought a rolled over 2001 4x4 Quad cab. I had a body shop confirm it's to far gone to repair the body. I want to start looking for a southern truck with a decent body. Are 2WD and 4WD bodies the same? Our frame and drivetrain are fine, I just need a straight unrusty body.

Did they make the quad cabs in all the years? Or what years will work on our 2001? They made the 2500 and 3500 longer in the 2nd gen body style. How long did that last, just 02 or into 03?

I found one for a grand in Phoenix with a blown motor. Has some dings and a trashed interior. Hope it's still there later this month.
