Default Cab swap

Hey everyone! It’s tax season and that means I’m getting a parts truck to cab swap my cummins. The old girl is a 98.5 5 speed truck, if I buy a 98 1500 can I just plop the cab on the frame, string up the engine harness again and plug it in? I want it to be as easy as possible. No dash swapping or wiring mess since wiring gives me anxiety it’ll never get done haha

I'm not sure on that one.... I suspect the sheet metal will be the same, but, I suspect some things in the electronics changed... but, I can't swear to that.....

water in fuel, wait to start neither work not a real loss. Honestly those will probably pop back up once I plug I. The diesel computers and cluster. Water in fuel will never work again my fuel system is aftermarket fass so I have no sensor, wait to start I’d like to fix but no clue what’s wrong. Bulbs good so idk, trucks stick so that makes things easier buttt shift light doesn’t work, useless but I want it to work.
