I don't have an answer for you and I apologize. I wanted to ask someone a question and this thread showed up. I can't seem to post a thread and wondering if someone can help me or give me directions so I can post a topic.. I have a piece of plastic missing on the passanger side dash. It is just above the glove compartment. it is the piece where the two vents are located. I think this piece can be pulled out from the dash and replaced. I'm not positive.. Any advice on how to post a thread would be appreciated. An answer to my question would be good also.
Thanks, from frustrated because it seems so difficult to start a topic.

Hmm I'm still thinking it's something with the power on the parking circuit. I'd pull out the relay as it's only used for the intermittent and washer function. Run the wiper on low and check with a test light or similar on cavity 87A in the PDC. It should show power for most of the wiper sweep except when going through the park position.

So you're saying forget everything about the intermittent wiper settings, pull the relay, and then test for the wiper function on just the steady high/low settings because since the problem is across both circuits it has to be something common between the two?

Heck theoretically I could bypass the entire multifunction switch and just apply DC voltage to the circuits and see what the outcome is.

Does the 98 have separate module for the intermittent function like the 95 has?

It does but on the electric door / seat / whatever else models they went with an upgraded version. I believe that one was limited to the more base model trucks. I'm assuming that's screwed onto a frame piece to the right of the steering column at like a 45 degree angle?

The other version is actually screwed with a single screw in behind the ash tray / compartment basically by your right knee with a white connector and a green connector.

Removing the relay only helps with checking the wiring, the wipers won't park without it as the circuit runs across the normally closed contacts in the relay. You could jumper 87A and 30 which is what the relay connects when it's not energized.

I was thinking about some way to troubleshoot by applying power at different points but that's not a good idea. With the switch off and the wipers going into/through the park position part of the wiring for low speed gets connected to ground so there's a good chance of creating a short.

Ok. Soooo. You might be onto something. I may have actually had two bad motors. What are the chances. I have power on all the respective wires for the motor. Great continuity between the green wire on the motor and 87A. But when the motors spinning I never get power on 87A so that sounds like a broken motor.

On the horn front we pulled the airbag and shuffled things around and now the horn isn't always on. Re assembled it and woohoo. That's one thing solved. Just gotta buy a motor I'm guessing.

Solved the no intermittent wipers thing too, turns out on that same relay I lost my ground during my shuffling things around. So that explains why the relay isn't kicking in.
