Default Parking Brake Question

My parking brake hasn't worked in several years. About 6 months ago, I noticed my rear brake line was very rusted, especially behind the gas tank. I had a shop replace the hard line for me and repair my parking brake while they were at it. The parking brake worked as expected, until about a month ago. The other day I was under the truck, changing the transmission fluid, and I noticed the adjustment nut on the parking brake cable was loose, which would explain why the parking brake wasn't working anymore. I know I need to tighten the nut back up, but should I use loctite or anything to keep the nut in place?

Think I would just put a jam-nut on it.

That would make sense. Thanks!
