Default Misfire

It’s a 97 5.2 and I have a slight direct misfire, it’s noticeable when at low speeds but when you get to around 40 it starts to stutter and jump, seems like when it gets warm it starts to backfire and cut out until it eventually dies, but I can always wait a few minutes and it’ll drive again. Today I went to move it and when I put it in drive, it died and there was absolutely nothing, like it wasn’t getting spark. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve replaced the distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires recently, crankshaft position sensor, but I know how sensors go.

What brand crank sensor? These trucks really don't like aftermarket parts in critical places. Crank sensor is right at the top of the list......

I think you have more than one problem going on there though.... Are you getting any misfire codes? How did the old plugs look when you pulled them? Have you check the plenum? (see the stickied thread at the top of this forum....)

Against my better judgement I went with a master pro crank sensor.. now I’m kinda thinking that I may have gotten a bad sensor, I’m only throwing an 11 code had a 43 but it went away when I replaced the distributor, but the problem stayed. All of the old plugs were black and had build up on them. And I’ll probably check the plenum soon but no I haven’t yet
