NV4500 swap into 1500

Default NV4500 swap into 1500

Alright yall, brand spankin new here so bear with me with i goof this up, anyways, i got a 96 Ram 2500 Light duty donor truck for my 1500. Im putting the NV4500 from the 2500 into the 1500. Any major things i should watch out for in the prosses? Both trucks have a 5.9L engine.

Damaging the crank sensor if you have the flywheel off.

Yep. This one. Also, keep in mind, if you are going from auto, to manual, the crank sensors are different. Need the correct one for the manual trans.

Is that sensor affixed to the transsmission or the backside of the engine? The donor truck was a running driving 2500 w. NV4500 that didnt have a single straight body panel

Bolts to the engine, but, there is a cutout in the trans for it. Behind the passenger side head. Yep. It's REAL fun to get to.

Alrighty, thank you for that info, i will let yall know how the swap goes, so far have the clutch and pedals into the truck next steps the trans and crossmember mounts and drivelines(which is gonna suck)
