The crank sensor tells the PCM the engine is turning, and with the cam sensor, it know which cylinder is coming up. Without one, or the other, the engine doesn't run. At all. A weak/failing/poor quality crank sensor will run the engine under no load, but, as soon as you put a load on it, putting into gear, for instance, it isn't adequate to the task, and the engine dies. What's really bizarre is, if the crank sensor sends a weak signal, you get a weak spark...... You would think it would a yes or no thing, but, apparently it isn't. (verified by another member using an o-scope.)

So, what does your park look like at the plugs? What brand crank sensor is it?

Edit: ReReading some of this..... What brand IAC motor is in there? Did you clean the throttle body good when it was installed? Reset the PCM?

Throttle body didn’t look too bad so I didn’t clean it and I didn’t reset the pcm. The IAC is duralast brand.

duralast...... Yeah, I had one of those. Didn't work worth a darn. Replaced it with a used MOPAR unit I had laying around, and my idle troubles went away..... You NEED to clean the TB, and reset the PCM though. PCM needs to be forced to relearn the zero values for the sensors that are replaced. (just disconnecting the battery for half an hour will do it.) Might try just doing a reset first, and see if anything improves.

Okay so a Little Update, I reset the PCM and absolutely nothing changed, My checked for stored codes and it has a stored code 37 but the engine light isn’t on. Today I went to drive it and there’s no power in the peddle, I can’t get the truck to go more than 10 miles an hour on flat ground and if I push the accelerator too far it stalls out. Earlier in the day it drove crappy like mentioned prior in this thread but now it’s does this

I tried 2 new crank sensors and reset the pcm both times and same problem, truck hardly crawls and if you touch the gas it stalls. If I want to move the truck I have to let it idle forward or back because even taping the gas makes it stall

little note also, now there are a lot of fumes from the exhaust. A lot of whiteish gray smoke coming out the tale pipe

White means you are burning coolant (head gasket usually)
Blue means you are burning oil (rings usually)

Head gasket will give you low compression and will make it run sluggish and cause the plugs to foul. Same with rings.

It runs and idles completely fine until you put it in gear
