I have a 2002 ram 2500 with 5.9 V8. I am trying to I/D an electrical component that is mounted on the top front of the rear axial housing. There are 2 wires going to it that lead back to the box wiring harness. My puppy got under there and chewed it all up and I am just trying to find out just what it is for. So far I can't find anything on the rear wiring for this vehicle. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!

I suspect its the rear wheel speed sensor. Does your speedometer work?
