The rollover valve or vent valve as some call it, that goes into the fuel pump, does it pull a vacuum? I only ask because the nipple broke and I need to get this gas tank back in my paps truck (97 1500) until the part comes in. The diagrams don't show me what it is connected to.

The rollover valve is just a ball in the filler neck. Can you post a pic?

If the valve you are looking for is part of the fuel tank, then you need to replace the tank, If it the roller valve on the fuel pump the part number is 5212766 for the valve and 4002149 for the grommet. And you don't need to drop the fuel tank down to replace it.

I ordered the part and that's the same number, so tennis for assurance! I left the tank out my old one broke changing the pump. It didn't look like there was clearance to get it out while it was in, but that's good to know for the future!

Using a fender cover and put it on the bumper and then lift a corner of the bed. That will give you enough room.
