1999 Ram 1500 Rough idel and stalls ?
Hi
I'm going to be working on a 1999 Ram 1500 for a guy I know, he told me that while he was driving, the truck just started running really badly and then stalled. I took a quick look at the truck and it starts right up but it runs real rough and dies when you try and drive it. I had my OBD-II scanner with me so I checked for codes and got a P0300 random misfire code. The truck seems to have new spark plugs, spark plugs wires, distributor cap, and rotor, I plan on checking these parts out to make sure there not the problem and I also plan on doing a compression test on all of the cylinders. From what I saw on a couple of YouTube videos, the people in the videos suggest looking for a vacuum leak, and check to make sure the battery is hooked up properly. Besides these things what else should I check out if these are not the problem?

Hi
Well it turns out the last person to do a tune up on the truck didn't do a very good job, they forgot to screw the distributor cap down properly and the tip of the rotor broke when the the distributor cap came loose. One of the spark plug wires was also just siting on the top of the distributor cap, and all of the spark plugs were gaped to under .03 and were just verily tighten down. As for the plenum, I can see that being a problem sometime down the road just not now.
