Default HVAC Box

Two questions. 1st there is this white thing in here corroded and cracked is it replaceable, what purpose does it serve. 2nd is the blend door supposed to move freely like the door next to it. Appreciate the help.

White thing is the blower motor resistor. Yes, replaceable.

Both doors should move freely. One mixes outside with inside and the other mixes cold and hot.

blend door did not move freely. dropped motor and found plastic insert that connects motor to blend door is cracked. got room on box to run a thick bead of epoxy around it and re-insert. Can't justify $35.00 plus shipping for Heater Treater fix.

I suppose. The motor connects to the blend door actuator so if it doesn't move, door won't either.

Keep in mind there are two different hvac boxes, The earlier ones had a cable where the newer ones use a motor. Helps to add truck info.
