Default A/C System

Replacing the Evaporator and Accumulator and manual states to add refrigerant oil to both. Is this something I should do or can it be done by mechanic when system gets tested for leaks and recharged? Appreciate input, thanks!

Put the oil in the receiver/drier/Accumulator when you(or mechanic) installs it. The oil is all in the whole system so when you remove a component you need to put the oil back in. It's a but of guess work and i think there is a chart somewhere that tells you what to add for what component.

Depends of the machine that mechanic uses. We have two different machines at work, and I can add oil with both of them.
But if you add oil by yourself, you can get away from guess work about correct amount by draining the old components to a cup, then add that amount and some more because you can't get all the oil out.

And if you add oil, be SURE to tell the next guy that works on it how much you put in.....
