Default Max tire size

What would be the largest tire size i can put on a 2001 Ram 1500 4x4 without a suspension lift, looking for recommendations.

Right now I'm running 255-85R16 which works out to about a 33.1-10R16. Definitely lots of room for activities. I was able to fit a set of 35-10.5R15 on there though. Probably would have worked for city driving but not alot of gap on fenders if the suspension compressed alot.
