Hello, im new to the 2nd gen rams i own a 2000 Ram 1500 with the 5.9L v8. My gas guage does not work, it shows empty until i shake the truck very hard. Its sitting with a half a tank but shows empty. How can i fix this issue?

 

Sounds like the float is getting stuck. Unfortunately you have to drop the gas tank and replace the sending unit (new fuel pump). You also could have a wiring issue
