Default Motor swap

We have a 2000 Ram 1500 2wd with the 5.9 in it and have tried replacing the rear end 3 times with no avail. We now have bought a 2001 Ram with the 5.9 bliwen in it. We want to swap motors. Is thus possible with no issues? Being 2wd & 4wd? Appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.

Should be a direct swap. Engine doesn't care about how many drive wheels you have. Trans does though. Might need to swap oil pan, and oil pump pickup. Not sure on that.

Check the oil pans, if they are the same, it's a simple bolt out, bolt in. You may need to swap the oil pan and pickup tube to clear the pumpkin on the front axle. I'm assuming you're going from a 2 to 4wd with the engine. Just be sure to use the flex plate that came out of the truck the engine is going into. If you're leaving the transmission in the truck you want to get running, shoot a little spot of paint on the flex plate and torque converter so you can line them up easier. Don't ask me how I know that.
