Default Engine shuts down

1999 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel. Three times in the past three months the engine has died as if not getting fuel, all while coming to a stop and transitioning from gas to brake. Turns over but won’t restart. Will restart after sitting and runs great. First mechanic had it for three weeks. No error codes, couldn’t duplicate the issue. Second mechanic also can’t duplicate the issue, noted some low voltage and is replacing the batteries. Any ideas?
