Default Engine swap

We had a 2000 Dodge Ram 2wd with the 5.9L engine. Rear end went out. Long story. We bought a 2001 Ram 4wd with a blown 5.9L. We did an engine swap and went to test it before fine tuning everything and it seems like there is no power. Radio and lights and all work but wont crank. You can hear clicking. Tried even hooking up the 02 ECU and no go. Would anyone have a clue what we are missing? I'm like a week in on this and real over it and our engine went on our other vehicle so its do or die. If pics are needed let me know. Any help is appreciated.

IF all you hear is a rapid clicking, try charging the battery, or checking the connections.

03DURANGOGAL

Make sure the battery connection is good for the positive and all your grounds are good. The starter requires a lot more current than the instrument cluster. Make sure the heavy negative cable has a good connection and also all the other grounds. Back in the 80's, I replaced a lot of shift cables when they would burn out starting the car. The starter was grounding through it because the firewall grounds weren't attached. There will be the bog cable to the battery from the block along with a smaller wire from the fender to the battery. There will also be one or two straps from the firewall to the valve cover or other place on top of the engine. It might just be a dirty connection at the battery terminals.

Yes, clean both ends of the battery cables and other grounds first. If the cables are really stiff they could be corroded and need replacing. Possibly a bad starter. I like this one
