Default Lighting electrical

Hey everyone, this is weird, my parking, instrument, and taillights come in when I start my 2001 1500. The light switch is in the off position. They stay on till I shut the truck off. Never seen this before. Any ideas?

Does your truck have daytime running lights?

The headlight switch is always powered, regardless of what you are doing with the key. (even if its still in your pocket.....) If you don't have DRL's, then that is going to be fun to figure out.

If no DRL internal switch failure?

I don't think the headlight switch is the problem. If the truck doesn't have DRLs, then the headlights, etc, need to be being fed power from somewhere else...... and that is going to be a real joy to find.

Absolutely that is one job I wouldn't like to do

Is this a new problem ? Anything changed recently, e.g. aftermarket radio install ?
