Default Tail Lights

I recently bought a '99 Dodge Ram and during the inspection, there was a running light out in the back passenger side however when I took the lights out the still running one worked in each so I ordered more on amazon. When the new lights came I put them in the housing and turned them on and neither of them lit up. So I tried the old light again that I knew worked in both and now is not working as well. I looked at every fuse that has to do with lights none are blown and the connection to the light is good. What else could be the problem?

Are you getting power to the socket? Turn signals work?

Did you check the fuse in the dash and under the hood?
