Default 1999 dodge ram transmission acting funy

so today i went t work truck ran fine then i got in it to come home put it in drive and she starts vibration as i drive and the 4wd shifter is moving back and forth ALOT. im going to top off fluid tonight but i need as much help as i can get because i have a trip to Alabama soon and its a 12 hour 830 mile drive. she does shift hard into second but has ever since purchase 4 years ago. also when i hit the brakes theres a bit of a clanking sound. idk what any of this means im realy bad when it comes to transmissions if you have any suggestions reply here or send me an email. my email is Redacted Not a good idea to publish your email address.

I think you have more than one problem going on there.

The vibration when starting out may not be the trans at all, but, a misfiring cylinder. When is the last time the plugs were changed? Any idea what plugs are in it?

For the clanking when you step on the brakes, I'd be pulling the wheels/tires, and inspecting EVERYTHING in the brake system.

Not only that but it defeats the purpose of being on a forum! As Hay You said cap rotor plugs wires and possibly the plenum gasket issue is where to start.
