Default Motor swap

Hey everyone I hope someone can help me out I am buying a 94 ram 1500 5.9 from a buddy for parts and trying to swap the engine from that truck to my 98 1500 5.9. is it a simple plug and play or what problems would I run into? Thanks for help

I believe the '94 5.9 motor has an EGR valve on it. You will need to swap the intake manifold from the '98 5.9 motor over to the '94 motor at a minimum. In addition, some of the sensors on the intake on the '94 are in different locations vs. the '98 intake. While you're at it, I'd install a new timing chain and gear set while the motor is out and easily accessible. Also, check to ensure the oil pans are the same, too.

Don't forget to fix the plenum plate while you have the intake off.
