Ok, I replaced mine about a year ago because it pluged up completely...Are they reembursing people for this? I paid $250 for the part and $50 for install! I want that $300 back.

I think my cat is still good, but the lady said it was still covered under the 10 year, 100,000 mile warrenty
Just got back from the stealer from dropping off the Ram, had some recalls and the cat. Recalls no problem the cat is another story. The cat is backordered, like a couple thousand of them! But they said they would order it and put it on when it comes in. Hope it don't take a crap before then. But I did get a little info for you guys with 98s, I heard the parts guy say they are only covered to 80,000 miles. Sorry!
My '98 has been replaced twice under warranty. The cause was due to the computer calling for a lean condition and made the fuel mixture richer and so on and so on, until finally had raw gas out the tailpipe. Computer and oil was replaced and of course a month down the road the converter plugged.
Note: on 360s the coil wire runs along the valve cover very near the fuel injectors. We all know the wimpy wires they have. When they leak a spark will take out an injector and cripple your computer. Relocate that coil wire and/or install a good proformance set of wires.

Hey guys. The 96 Ram I just bought hasn't had the CAT converter replaced. The old boy I'm getting it from has the letter from chrysler about the recall. Would I be best served going right down to the stealer and having them replace it or just hang onto the note. The truck has 74,100 miles on it.
I would go down and have it looked at, but as I stated earlier they are back ordered a few thousand so it will not be done then but it will still be covered as long as it has been to the stealer. The warrenty only last till 12/06
Does anyone have a scanned copy of the letter they recieved from Dodge?
I bought my Ram used so I doubt I'll get a letter. I just replaced the Plenum Gasket with the hughes kit (which fixed several issues, like gear hunting, cruise control not controlling, little bit of oil consumption), but around the time my driveability issues came up I noticed a nice Nickel sized hole in my muffler that appears to have been put there by a red hot peice of Cat. The muffler is some el mexicano flowmaster 40 Knock-Off. I didn't put it on, it was there when I bought the truck, and is set to be replaced with a magnaflow. Either way.. around the time the problems popped up the SOB started rattling like a bucket full of nails, and continues to get worse. I noticed today when I had my tyres rotated that it is even rattling at idle.
I'd really like to go to my dealer with ammunition and get Dodge to cover the replacement on the cat now. Since I will have no chance in hell once I put on the procharger!!!

Both my V-10 as well as my Dads 2001 V-10 came with the cats cut out. But thats a Canada thing.
And they left the air pump and all the piping. There also is a software upgrade sticker on the ECU

I got my official letter in the mail a few months ago. The converter and O2 sensor was replaced 3 years ago because of rattling noise and check engine light. Sent in the recipt from the stealership and Dodge reimbursed the entire cost plus the cost of replacing the 02 sensor. Got the check about 6 weeks later.
