Considering where you live, stay with 5W-30. I worked up there one winter and the 30 will be good enough when the engine is warm and the 5W will help lubricate when It's still chilled. I had one guy up there when I first started working up there tell me you know it's cold when you walk outside and your boogers freeze. He wasn't lying.

Good grief boogers freeze at low 20s. Doesn't get that cold in IN, huh?

I've seen -21 around here but usually we get to single digits and the occasional 0 degrees. 35 degrees with the sun shining and little wind is T shirt weather for me. I've never pulled boogers out to see if they were frozen but the really cold air, colder than the 20's causes nasal hair to stand on end like goosebumps on the skin. It's the summers around here that are rough. Not that hot but the humidity will get you. If you can see the air around here, you don't want to breathe it.
