A few years back, 'ol blue (96 Ram 1500/5.2 2WD) had the unfortunate disintegration of the cat inside the case. I dumped out the innerds. From that moment on, I had the dreaded knock that I hadn't had to that point. All my scanner data showed an almost completely normal engine (with 250K on it). With the combined, oracle like knowledge of the sages n work-a-day been there/done that hi priests that prowl these hallowed halls, I was led to replace my upstream O2 sensor ANYHOW, denso to NTK. VOILA!!, pretty much cured my problem. Yes, the hughes mod was already on my beast years before that. As a side note, at the same time, I reset my "fuel sync", twas at +19...ouch! I did notice that 'ol blue seems to jump to life, every time, when starting now, Can't say honestly whether it helped with the problem or the power, prolly more psychological than real, but I really like the starting after only 2 ta 3 wilka's on the start cycle! Hope this helps, plumber!
