Default Chevy Tow Hooks??

Hey guys, looking to add front tow hooks to my 2001 1500. Despite the number of threads on tow hooks I haven't found the info I need. Feel free to suggest other ideas, but what I think I want to do is use 1990's Chevy front hooks and bend up a bracket like the OEM out of 1/4" steel, which is what the OEM appeared to be. I know a guy who may be able to bend it on a metal brake. If for some reason he couldn't bend it without heat, would it be appropriate to use a torch, or even weld it together rather than bend? Again this is all subject to change, would love to see what others have done besides use $$ OEM. Thanks

Also. How do I make a signature on here?

#1 - OEM Dodge
#2 - 1999 Chevy 1500 hooks

I would rather weld it then get it up unless you can realign the molecules. I used 3rd gen tow hooks on mine

Are the stock pieces still available?? As I recall, it was just the Off-Road package that got the tow hooks... (2000-2001)

They might be true but I know my 2500 has them. Factory or not idk. Might find some of the stock pieces around.

Personally I would design my own as I went to drag a tree I cut down with mine and it bent the 1/4in bracket

The Dodge Ram 2nd gen tow hook kit (Dodge part number 82202863) has been discontinued for awhile now. I bought this kit and added the tow hooks to my truck some time ago. There is one tow hook kit lurking on eBay for a ridiculous price...

Great find... That's all of the parts that come in the kit (hooks, brackets and hardware).

There's a couple out there, but they're pricey. Lookin to spend less than $100 because I'm cheap.

I looked at 3rd gen hooks just now and I'm not seeing how they could mount without building a big bulky mount for them. Would love to see pics if you have any.

That's interesting that your 1/4" bent, I might have to go with 3/8"....

Yep I'll take pictures of the bent hook. I forgot I have a 4th gen bumper lol. Either way I'm building a 1/2 steel bumper
