I was running a FRAM, switched over to a mopar, and the pressure went up. It used to stay at 40PSI, now it’s at like 45? I don’t know if that’s a good thing. Thank you! (The check engine is irrelevant)

It's a good thing. Stay away from Fram.

That’s why I switched it out. Lol! I heard nothing but bad things about FRAM. I did not change the oil since it has less than 500 miles.

It has better quality filter media. It's not surprising it would have a little more resistance and increase your pressure.

Usually the better a filter filters the lower the flow rating is. If you have high flow rating the lower the filtration. There was comparison done of filters years ago that was scientifically done not like a lot of backyard ones i see. It was about 10 years ago so what was out then you cant compare to today. As like so many people rag on Fram their "extra guard" filter was one of the top 5. This topic comes up fairly often so did a little digging to see if i could find another filter test. Well couldn't find exactly what i was looking for(filter names and spec comparisons) but what i did find is that the Royal Purple oil filter came up on top in a few of the ones i looked at. Filters you want to get have synthetic filter media that will filter out down to a small micron level and still have high flow ratings. I'm just curious did you put on the stubby style filter or the full size? Two links for your viewing pleasure...
