Default 2001 Dodge Ram Transmission

I have read through the numerous threads about the 46RE overheating and I still have questions. Here is my situation. Transmission will kick out of overdrive and now the temp light comes on (I do not have a tranny temp gauge). I have removed the check valve and added a auxilliary cooler. When this happened on Friday, I grabbed the bottom hose to the tranny cooler and it was fairly hot, but to hose exiting the cooler was just a little warm. So it looks like the fluid is being cooled. The fluid in this truck has never looked dark or smelled bad. Where would you guys start? Governor Pressure Transducer? Torque Converter going bad? Need Help. Thanks Jay

Trans temp sensor is part of the governor pressure sensor. If there is not check valve.... Think I would try flushing the lines/cooler first, (back flush, please) and if that didn't help, then change the sensor.
