Default Stuck with no lights

Hi, I’m a new member but I’m not new to a few of the problems that sometimes come around with my 2nd generation 2001 Ram 2500 Cummins. I am at a point where I need some help with my current situation.the problem is that the dash lights won’t work and when I move the scroll up from the off position my dome lights come on right out of the gate. I have replaced the light switch. I used a test light to check for power on the pins from the connector and found one white wire that barely lit up the test light. I’m thinking maybe a ground problem? But where would it be located. Is there anything else that I may have missed? I’m really stuck on this one. Thanks, mike

How did the connector for the switch look?

If you don't have one already, download the service manual for your truck from here. Wiring diagrams are in section 8W.

Thanks for the quick response, I had an issue in the past with a connector that got so hot it burnt the wire. I looked carefully this time to see if the same problem happened again. It all seemed fine. I will look over the diagram you sent and see if there might be another connector elsewhere.

Did you replace the connector on the back of the switch?
