Vibration/Shake 4x4 Ram
Ok here we go. I would best describe it as a shake or a wobble. It gradually gets worse as I accelerate. I can power out of it past 80k/hr. Feel it going slow about 10-20k. If I let off the gas at 80 it calms down. I hit the gas lightly again and it wobbles. I’ve literally just about done everything in this truck. It’s a 1996 ram 1500 4x4 with a 5.9. Steering, ball joints, DOR track bar and mount, sway bar bushings, end links, wheel bearings, axle u joints, front and rear u joints, trans mount. New tires and rims balanced. It’s got a 6inch suspension and 3” body.
My passenger outer pad is worn more than the rest. Could it be a bent rotor? Doesn’t shake when I hit the brakes like it would. Think the wear is just from the wobble when the wheel bearing was junked. My rear driveshaft has a weight gone off it. I’m getting that balanced Monday. It’s pretty crazy tho. For it to wobble that much just from the driveshaft being out I would think. It’s not like a vibration as much as a big *** seat shaking wobble hah Could it be the rear driveshaft pulled out a bit from the output shaft on the t case because of the lift? Or what about motor mounts? My trans mount was sheered right off. Engine doesn’t really move when I rev it tho.
stumped here guys. Any input is greatly appreciated. I like new parts anyways hah
thanks🤘🏼

Probably getting the rear shaft rebalanced would be the next step. From how you describe it though, its gotta be something in the rear driveline. But, feeling it at low speeds is a puzzler...... usually, that's just a bad tire.
Thanks man.
no doubt. I’ll do the balance and see what happens. It’s better with my front driveshaft out. But I think the yoke is too far out. F I dono. I got 32 1/4 from the end of the shaft at the t case to the center if the u joint at the front yoke.
