I have a 97 1500 sport with the 5.9L V8. A few years ago I rolled the thing a few times and put a new cab on it. The new cab is from a Laramie SLT, it was a 2WD truck because I had to cut a hole in the floor board for the 4wd shifter.. Does the new cab have the ability to have a 4WD light? If so how would I go about activating it? I'm having to swap the transfer case and overdrive unit and just realized the light either doesn't exist or is not activated inside the new cab. I can post pics of new cab if needed.

 

Swap the instrument cluster and harness from the old cad in the new cab.

 

The parts manual doesn't have specific instrument panels or wiring harnesses for 4wd vs 2wd. Might be as simple as no bulb installed. Otherwise check the wiring to the switch at the front axle, and the switch of course.
