Yah there is some red neck mod for the boost sensor on the head. Some guys just run a switch to switch between.
I just used larger injectors. The largest injectors I ran on stock HX-35 was 6X12's injectors (also ran water/meth) to cut the egt's. Worked well for years. You could also lower the injector pop pressure to make them haze at idle.
