Default another lift pump question

We have an early 02 2500 Ram 4WD. It needs yet another new lift pump. Down to 4 to 5 psi at full throttle. What are peoples opinions about replacing the faulty pump with an OEM pump in the tank. (1st replaced pump is presently in the tank. Probably not OEM)). if not a good idea, what is?
Thank you.
Stephen

Bear in mind, I don't know a whole lot about diesels..... but... the stock pumps were generally pretty reliable, no idea who actually made them though. The other option would be something from the aftermarket, some variety of 'performance' system. Might even have an external pump that is a bit easier to service than the in-tank fellers.
