Default quick clockspring question...

2001 dodge ram sport 1500 4x4

Just put a new (good used) steering column in it (clockspring is broke) has cruise, No volume control on the wheel...
old/original column has cruise, w/volume control (clockspring also broke)..Truck now has a aftermarket radio so I don't need the volume control...

Can I buy a clockspring for the new column(from a 2500) that's $40 cheaper with no volume control....
Or do I need to swap steering wheels and run a clockspring for my truck? with the volume controls....

Only thing from my old column I used was the key assembly....

clockspring for old column w/cruise and with volume control is $103.00
clockspring for new column with cruise and no volume control is $61.99

airbag light is still on, and cruise still don't work...was hoping for the bonus and the new column would fix them both...no such luck...

Yes you can. You can use the volume controls with the aftermarket radio. The clock spring could still be bad
