I always looked at the wheel bearings. I THINK OP has the HD because he is inferring he has the Cummins

Dual piston didn't come around on the heavier trucks until around 2000, I think.... My 96 had the 8800 pound GVW, but, still had the single piston calipers. I havent looked at my 98 calipers yet.....
