i I can get a snap on scanner the problem seems to be be getting into the abs system to test the abs system. I am pretty sure i have used my friends scanner but when it came time to look at the abs system it had very limited use. It had the different cartridges for each obd 1 vehicle.that you snapped into place. You guys are saying a scanner can read OBD1 i dont doubt that but can they to the testing of the ABS system is the question?? thanks

Just looked at the picture that is the exact one i have used in the past but i am pretty sure it has limited capabilities when it comes to testing the abs. I will see if i can grab it again a nd test it

From what I can tell looking at the FSM the 94-95 have two separate diag ports. One for the PCM which is near the PCM itself, and one "center of instrument panel" (whatever that means) for ABS and Airbag modules. Looks like this:

Can your scan tools be set to bleed the abs system??
What type and are you one of the rare ones to keep obd 1 scanner around
Like I said never worked on an OBD1 vehicle. The scanners I have they can do OBD1 are Starscan, DRB, Surely, and I believe me Bosch can

As DerTruck mentions, I believe the SnapOn MT2500 scanner will perform ABS diagnostics when plugged into the correct plug for ABS/airbag diagnostics (not the OBD1 port) and with the appropriate cartridge and plug adapter.

ok that plug is familiar. I will see if anything comes up unless the current place fixes the issue first. But from what you guys say the snap is not bi-directional correct. So if i am not having any codes currently that is all i will see. But if i want to trigger the valves in the module this scanner will not be able to so correct.??

Not sure. I do know that it supports some ABS diagnostics, but unsure as to how deep the support goes.
