Default Transmission: 46RE dies in 2 only

Hi Everyone, ongoing saga here... I have now removed and reinstalled my 46RE twice and been unable to go to work for 3 weeks now.

When I took down the trans last time, I had totally destroyed the front band because I improperly assembled the front servo. ( Servo Cover installed upside down )
I resolved that and verified my servo was operating under air pressure.
I re-installed everything, started up and went through the gears. Reverse, Neutral and D seem to engage fine.
When I get to 2, the engine dies right away.
If I shift past 2 and go to 1, then the truck does not die.
UPDATE: I added fluid and now it dies in both 2 and 1

Since I also recently replaced the ECM, I tried a no electronics test, where I disconnected the harness and then started it and went through the gears again and even without PCM control connected at all, its still dying as soon as I shift to 2.

Please help!

Without the electronics hooked up, the tcc should never lock, so at worst, when you put it in second, the engine should idle down some, just like it should in any other gear.

When it dies, does the truck lurch forward, like dumping the clutch?

Thank you for your reply!!
I had tried a test where I disconnected the transmission connector and it still dies in one and two.

When I shift in 1 or 2 it does not lurch but maybe it would if i revved it up a bit.

I tried another test where I got up to 5mph and then put it in 2. The truck acted like I was driving with the brakes on.
Any tips / ideas are welcome.

You may want to drop the valve body and make sure all the valves are moving freely. I had a stuck one and ended up smoking my rear band. Switched vb from one of my few donor tranny and works great now

Thank you for the comments... I've got another rebuild kit on order. Once it comes I'll go through the entire transmission again.

Not sure if you're aware or not but there is a real good series on YouTube that covers the entire rebuild process.. Its by transmission bench

Yes, Thank you... I watched the entire series several times and talked with Jimmy at length on the phone. I just spent $700 on the master rebuild kit and some replacement parts for my Durango transmission.
