Minor Vibration in Steering?
Hey guys i have my ram info below so reference by that.
At about 38-40 MPH cruising, foot on gas constant speed, i get a small vibration in the steering wheel and i guess i could say im starting to notice it more, its winter here i.e. colder out and salt on roads, but now its 40*F out and its still doing it, is there anything that is common to cause this or something you guys may have noticed to cause this, perhaps experianced this too?
When i got the truck they did 2000$+ worth of work on it cause they sold it to me unsafe
free parts lol
All front end work, Trackbar, hubs bearings crap like that, even the steering box was new

I would check the frt end parts and pay close attention to the front u-joints. Then I would rotate my tires front to rear. See if the vibration moves to the rear or goes away or even gets worse. If ya notice a change you will know it's in the tires or wheels. And being that your truck is a 4x4 you don't have a idler arm. Good luck.
i see, well, front u's is possible but its only at 40 mph and a steady cruze, its like a feeling u cant really hear but feel in the stearing wheel..
Sorry dint notice it was a 4x4, was checking out your sig picture of the stoopid computer,,lol. Yes check tires by rotating to rear and I agree, front ujoints, wheel bearings or axle shafts all could be suspect.

Does it change with engine load? Will it do it in neutral? Just trying to get alittle more info..Ohh I see you mentioned that in your first post..I would check all the u-joints. Look for rust dust or brownish discoloration around the joints as well as checking them for play.
lol u like that sig pic, well i think im gonna have to think about u joints... another question, i may have a leak from power stearing box, i looked at the unit and it has a liquid all over the front of it. i wont waste time throwing pix cause i think its warrentied or somthing so ill get that checked out.
you could also need to check your air pressure and c that it is all the same(I know alot of people might think it has nothing to do with it but that makes a difference if air pressure is not good) also check your pittman arm this part is very important but it also takes alot of time to wear out. Usually goes a long time before you need to repair it. Make sure that you do not have any bubbels on your tires that could be a sign of that vibration.
