Dodge Ram hard start/rough idle/stalling
I have a 97 dodge ram 1500, 5.9L 360 Magnum. Truck will turn over but die immediately, it'll idle if I keep my foot on the gas for about 45 seconds or so, then I can let off and you hear sucking coming from the intake or close to the intake, then eventually it'll even out and stop sucking and the rpms rise.. but if you put the truck in drive and start going then let off the gas for just a second, then truck dies.. and it does this over and over.. just replaced fuel pump and cut off cat which was clogged up.. any help would be appreciated
Clean the throttle body.
IAC well gets clogged with crap, and IAC can't do it's job. Reset the PCM when you have it squeaky clean, turn the ignition to on, (not start) count to 10, then start the truck. (don't touch anything) PCM should figure out idle fairly quickly.

Mine did that when battery crapped out, try hooking to another vehicle or booster see if it changes
but mine was so bad even hooked to another vehicle it died, voltage showed 14 when I kept hitting gas to keep running but when I actually swapped battery it fixed it

I actually replaced all the sensors on the throttle body and cleaned the Tb multiple times. I haven't tried resetting the PCM though so I'll try that
I did put a semi-new battery in there so I might need to try replacing it also

I should also mention that there was backfiring before the cat came off and now it's a little less frequent, and when you put the pedal to the floor, it's like your barely pressing it down, it just hesitates and backfires a little bit
