Default Ignition coil help

So, I recently took my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie SLT to the shop for a bad ignition coil replacement. But now I'm getting a code saying that Cylinder 1 has a bad ignition coil as well? So I'm wondering if there is a coil on that side of the engine as well. Any input, advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

There’s only one coil on a 98 gaser.
I would give it a general tune up/wires plugs cap and rotor. Reset the codes and try it again.

You probably just needed plugs, wires, cap and rotor…..the coils on these are pretty resilient…..my 95 had 245k when I traded it, original coil ran mint (frame/body rotted)…now my 02 (has 5.9 even though a third gen) and it’s got 158k with original coil….

Okay thanks, I've already done all the plugs and wires. So now I'll be looking into replacing the cap and rotor.

Copper plugs? The iridium and platinum take more juice to make a spark. That could be your problem.
